We look forward to helping you reach your wellness goals!
You've had your first Chiropractic Adjustment?
Congratulations! You have taken the first step toward unleashing your healing potential. The purpose of Adjustments
is to begin to correct Vertebral Subluxations
(spinal misalignments causing nerve interference or damage). Once your body is free of Vertebral
Subluxations it can work more closely to optimal levels and of course, free from pain. We say “begin” because we are retraining your spine from a condition that
has most likely been present for a while, maybe years. Your body, for numerous reasons, can’t always
fix the subluxations itself, so it becomes accustomed to them. Your body adapts to the altered spinal
positions and tension, but the problem never completely goes away. That is why sometimes the symptoms keep coming
back, or don’t go away.
This began to change TODAY!
You may or may
not feel like a million bucks yet, but chances are that you will feel “different.”
You might notice that you’re breathing
easier, standing taller, more relaxed, or even more energized. You may have intermittent periods or a great deal of pain
reduction. It’s even possible for you to
have an increased awareness of pain. Perhaps
you are not quite sure what you feel. Any or all of these feelings are possible. But
after the first five or six adjustments, most Chiropractic patients know that their
body is changing. And that a very
powerful, exciting and creative force has been released within them!
What happens next?
Perhaps you had
an ailment, pain, or symptom you were hoping to resolve when you first came to
our office. We can't tell you exactly how a specific symptom may be affected by
Chiropractic care. However, we can tell
you that Chiropractic works. And consistent Spinal care, especially in the initial,
corrective phase of care, much more consistently yields positive
results. This is what we want for you
too.
What can you do to help?
First of all,
keep your appointments. Each adjustment
builds on the last. And we can avoid
playing “catch-up” and keep the healing momentum going. Second, start
paying more attention to simple changes like more frequently catching yourself
in poor postures when driving, working or watching TV; notice how you feel
after eating certain foods or drinking or not drinking proper amounts of
quality water. Patients under
Chiropractic care often find an increasing awareness to the many little ways
their life works or how it’s changing.
Beginning Chiropractic care often coincides
with patients making resolutions to an overall improving of their quality of
life and Adjustments create and add too this improvement.
Finally, some
Chiropractors will instruct patients to do things like “lift with your legs and
not your back.” While this is important,
I think it’s common sense. Instead I
like to point out that improving the condition of your spine automatically
allows your body to better handle your day to day stresses, as well as uncommon
or more traumatic forces. Don’t worry
that you are going to go out and “undo” the Adjustment you just got. I worry about the people going around, living their stressful lives without
getting spinal Adjustments.
Congratulations for putting yourself on the
path to greater health!
